FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF GERMANY

FEDERAL CHANCELLOR

,,Harmonie’’ provides a  wonderful motto for a music and folklore festival which unites participants from 50 countries and for which I have gladly accepted patronage.

What makes this festival into something really special is, in my opinion, the great voluntary commitment of the members, sponsors and friends of HARMONIE Choir Lindenholzhausen, without whom an enterprise of such magnitude could not be accomplished. It goes without saying that music is a wonderful and also unparalleled mean of bridging people of different culture.

By instigating the HARMONIE FESTIVAL in 1981 the HARMONIE Choir has created a forum at which choirs and folklore groups not only pit their talents in friendly competition but also sing and make music together. Moreover an impressive and incomparable atmosphere of friendship and open-mindedness arises here-not least through the personal care and lodgings given to many of the guests by families throughout the region.

I wish all of the participating choirs and groups the anticipated success in the competitions, stimulating concerts to all the guests and the festival a successful and ,,harmonious” course of events.
